There is very little in life that beats good timing. If you are thinking of being prepared for a disaster, it's much better to be a lot early than a little too late. It took a disaster to change these people from being unprepared to making preparation. Will you learn from them?

There are a lot of places you can go to learn about what to do. Even if you know what to do, getting other ideas can certainly help.
At least get a hand-crank emergency radio or flashlight
Make sure you do SOMETHING.
